QA Technologist
Support production by assuring the quality of the items BOMs, finished products, maintaining quality records for CSA regulations, leading the quality efforts within the manufacturing department, as well as assisting in company directives.
Responsibilities
- Conduct raw material sampling and support of material receipt
- Conduct packaging component sampling, inspection and evaluation to ensure that components comply with specifications
- Interpret quality standards to ensure that all incoming materials comply with requirements
- Perform all inspections, acceptance, tests and audits for items up to finished products
- Create and follow inspection via source control documents or other procedures for all QA programs and systems, including but not limited to:
- Incoming
- Rework
- Environmental and emissions
- Placing ship holds if needed
- Implement DPT’s SPC program
- Maintain records, create stats and other program duties
- Customer responses in person, on the telephone and/or via email
- Hands on to the product and knowledge of DPT’s product
- Sampling inward and outward
- Test runs and chamber testing
- Good manufacturing practices (GMPs) and supplier audits
- Provide technical support for other departments
- Create operator instruction documents from specifications
- Monitor product quality and assist in continuous improvement
- Audit processes and help to identify opportunities for improvements
- Perform other duties as assigned, and in accordance with DPT guidelines, standard operating procedures, appropriate industry and regulatory standards, guidelines, rules and regulations
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Science or equivalent - BSc degree is highly desirable
- Two years experience in the electronic or manufacturing industry
- Minimum two years experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control including sampling/inspection and/or process monitoring activities
- Solid understanding of Quality systems and related regulations is required, specifically in the area of material sampling inspections and testing
- General knowledge of material quarantine/release and warehouse operations within a ERP environment
- Display strong interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work individually, as well as a part of the team
- An ability to communicate verbally and through writing is essential, as well as a working knowledge of computer systems
- Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs and up to 50 lbs; moderate physical activity is required during the sampling of materials
- Excellent math skills with statistical process measurements to determine trends and conformance of incoming and outgoing products
- Knowledge of Stage/Gate Manufacturing Engineering Process and ability to perform electronic testing at the system level
- Ability to work occasional overtime, extended shifts and alternate schedules
